I joined the BHS in 1965 in 11th grade as the result of a high school quartet competition and at the urging of my band director Hank Hoffman, who was an active member of the Pretzel City Chorus in Reading, PA. Some years passed due to schooling, military, marriage, etc., and I became active in the chapter and quartets in the early 70's.

My first registered quartet was the Reading Company, and I presently sing with Faces 4 Radio 2014 BHS International Senior Quartet Champions. In between, I sang with more than 10 registered quartets, competed at 6 international events, won the 1980 M-AD quartet championship, and enjoyed countless hours of friendship and singing with my quartet buddies.

On the chorus side, I have been assistant director of the Bryn-Mawr Mainliners and the West Chester Chordbusters, and music director of the Reading Sweet Adelines, Lancaster Red Rose Chorus, and the Reading Pretzel City Chorus.

I am looking forward to many more years of that special a cappella sound, with my chorus and quartet. I'm also looking forward to the 2014 international convention in Las Vegas, NV., where I will celebrate my 50th anniversary with the BHS. In August 2017, we retired to the beach in Fenwick Island, DE, I’ve joined the Pride of DelMarVa chorus and Debbie and I are singing in the choir at Commumity Lutheran Church.
