Bob feels like a relative rookie in the Barbershop Harmony Society having first joined the Philadelphia Sounds of Liberty in 2007 then moving to Delaware County and singing with Wilmington before transferring to the Mainliners in 2012. He soon became the Performance MC/“Voice of the Mainliners”. Prior to discovering barbershop Bob worked in regional theater throughout the Delaware Valley. He became an Equity candidate playing “Rumplestiltskin” at Children’s Storybook Theater prior to understudying “Ben” in Death of a Salesman at Philadelphia’s Arden Theater, then “Finnian” in Finnian’s Rainbow, “Maurice” in Beauty and the Beast, and “Boss” in Of Mice and Men, all at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia. Bob’s favorite roles are the “Governor/Innkeeper” in Man of LaMancha, “Baptist/Judas” in Godspell and “Simon the Zealot” in Jesus Christ Superstar all at the Bucks County Playhouse. He played “Polonius” in Hamlet and “Stephano” in The Tempest at Philadelphia Shakespeare in the Park; “Old Soldier/Judge Roan” in Villanova University’s nine Barrymore nominated production of Parade; a half dozen roles in comedies, dramas and musical at Media’s Hedgerow Theater; and “Bottom” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Cabrini College where he also directed his first production, August Moon. At Cabrini he also did major roles in Rags and Dance on a Country Grave. He went on to direct the musical Celebrate Life. Bob authored the play Road Trip for the Brandywine Chapter. You may have seen Bob over the past few years in TV commercials for Herr’s Potato Chips, McNeil Laboratories, Branch Electronics, Blue Cross of Texas (if you live in Texas), Key Pontiac, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Termidor, and in dramatizations for Comcast Cable’s Seeking Solutions with Suzanne. Bob’s first principle movie role was in DIG which premiered 2014 in center city Philadelphia. Bob is thrilled to be a part of Rittenhouse Sound since April of 2015 and looks forward to an opportunity to sing lead in a quartet. Bob is an honorary inductee into the National Music Honor Society. For five years he moderated the Little Flower High School for Girls Drama Club. The highlight of his performing career happened when he shared the Little Flower stage with two of his daughters in Meet Me in St. Louis. That highlight was surpassed in December when he appeared on stage with all three of his daughters, Kelly, Jennie, and Kate in the Mainliner's Christmas show Bob wrote and directed, Good News - It's Christmas. His biggest fan and inspiration is Marge.
